An Ennis based councillor is urging those who need to access addiction services in the County to take that first step in finding help.
While latest statistics from the Health Research Board have found that the number of alcohol treatment cases has decreased in recent years, the number of new cases classified as “alcohol dependent” has increased from 50% of new cases in 2011 to 68% in 2017.
It’s feared more people are presenting when the problem is already severe which makes treatment more complex and recovery more difficult.
