West Clare Councillor Warns Of Dangers Of Chinese Lanterns And Helium Balloons

A West Clare Councillor is warning that wild animals are dying, because Chinese lanterns and helium balloons continue to be released.

Clare County Council is to request that the government introduces legislation to outlaw the release of such items into the sky on environmental concerns.

At present, there is no law in place banning the practice, despite strict litter and dumping rules across the country.
