Concern Expressed Over Delay In Flood Relief Scheme Report

The Minister for Rural Affairs has expressed concern over the delay in a feasibility study for a key flood relief scheme in South Galway.

Minister Seán Canney initiated the Gort Lowlands Flood Relief Scheme over two years ago when he was in charge of the OPW, and the feasibility study for it was due last November.

But the wait for that report, and for physical works continue, while local residents and farmers remain at risk of flooding until action is taken.
