Concern Expressed That Climate Bill Does Not Address Shannon LNG

Concern is being expressed in Clare that the Climate Action Bill doesn’t address the issue of liquefied natural gas on the Shannon Estuary.

The Bill, which was brought before Cabinet yesterday, includes plans to halve Ireland’s greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

However, it is expected a separate policy statement on the banning of LNG terminals will not be brought before government for another six weeks.
