Calls On Climate Minister To Provide Just Transition Funding To Moneypoint

There are fresh calls for workers at Moneypoint power station to be given access to support under the Just Transition Fund.

The scheme, currently designated for the midlands, is worth €11 million and provides employment, training and transitional supports in a low carbon economy.

The West Clare plant, which was once the top contributor to the State’s electricity needs, is due to end its coal-burning practice in 2025.

Clare’s Fianna Fail Senator Timmy Dooley has called on Climate Minister Eamon Ryan to address the issue.
