Call For “Culture Of Cycling” To Be Adopted In Clare

There are hopes of a new “culture of cycling” will be adopted in this county, to reduce car emissions.

Last Friday saw students of Ennis National School travel to school on a ‘cycle bus’ for the first time, which saw 24 children supported by six adults cycling in for their classes.

It’s a parent-led initiative, supported by the school and the hope would be to extend it further, both in Ennis NS and other schools in Clare.

Inagh Green Party Councillor Róisín Garvey, who works as a Green Schools coordinator, says it’s about offering an alternative to motor transport.
