Woman Dies After Being Pulled From River Fergus

A woman has died after being pulled from the River Fergus in Ennis.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 5:15pm after receiving reports that a person had entered the water in the Cloughleigh area of the town.
Gardaí, the coastguard, the fire service and ambulance units attended.
The Shannon-based rescue helicopter 115 was also dispatched to assist in the search.
The woman, who is believed to be in her 20s, was pulled from the water and CPR was carried out before a defibrillator was used.
The woman was then transferred by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick in a critical condition.
Gardaí are treating it as a personal tragedy.
