Two people have been rescued after their boat ran aground, south of Killaloe Bridge.
The alarm was raised at around 9 o’clock last night, by a concerned family member, who reported the vessel had ran aground, but the occupants on board had very little english and were unable to give their exact location.
Killaloe Coast Guard located the boat around 1km south of Killaloe bridge and a crew member transferred onto the vessel, where the two occupants were found to be safe and well.
The boat was then towed back to deep water and the search was stood down.
It was the second emergency call that Killaloe Coast Guard responded to in a matter hours.
