Gardaí Appeal For Public’s Help In Fatal Road Crash Investigation

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a road crash in Clare which claimed the life of a woman in her early 40’s.

The woman was crossing the main Ennis to Kilrush Road last night when she was struck by a car.

Emergency services were alerted at around 7 o’clock last night, after a woman who was crossing the N68 at Darragh, was struck by a car.

The 41-year-old mother of two, who’s believed to be a non-Irish national who had been living in Ennis, was on her way to work at the time.

She was treated at the scene for a time by paramedics, before being transferred to University Hospital Limerick, where she died from her injuries a short time later.

Gardaí in Ennis are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time to come forward.

Superintendent Brendan McDonagh has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

A stretch of the N69 was closed for a time overnight to allow for a forensic examination, but has since re-opened.
