A family of three have been brought to safety, after their boat got into difficulty on Lough Derg.
The alarm was raised at around 12 o’clock yesterday afternoon, after the 21 foot cruiser suffered engine failure near Church Bay, on the Clare shore.
A unit from the Lough Derg RNLI was dispatched to the scene and established that the two adults and a child were safe and well.
The vessel was then towed back to Mountshannon harbour.
Lough Derg RNLI are advising people to ensure that their vessels are regularly serviced, and, in the event of difficulties, to always carry a means of communication.
