Clare Landowners Warned To Stop All Controlled Burning Immediately

Clare’s Chief Fire Officer is warning people to stop all controlled burning immediately, to reduce demand on emergency service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

It comes as fire crews from Kilkee and Kilrush spent over eight hours battling a forest fire at Moanmore, Moyasta last Wednesday.

Weeks without significant rainfall have left vegetation extremely dry, and with spring growth yet to begin, Met Éireann has raised its alert level in parts of the country.
