Electoral Boundaries Behind Hillary’s Decision Not To Run In Next Election

A North Clare Fianna Fail Councillor believes the re-drawing of electoral boundaries in the county will make it virtually impossible to get elected in next year’s local elections.

Spanish Point Councillor Michael Hillary, who was first elected 33 years ago, has announced at the party’s selection convention for the North Clare electoral area, that he won’t be running in the local elections next May.

Councillor Richard Nagle was selected to run for the party in North Clare, while Councillors Cathal Crowe and Pat McMahon were selected to run in the Shannon Municipal District and Pat Daly and Clare Colleran Molloy were selected for Ennis.
