More Elective Surgeries To Be Cancelled In UHL

More elective surgeries look set to be cancelled at University Hospital Limerick in the coming weeks.

That’s the prediction of the INMO, who have been speaking after the hospital registered its highest level of overcrowding of the year yesterday.

69 patients were on trolleys there yesterday – that’s dropped to 45 today, but remains the highest in Ireland.

Management were forced to cancel non-emergency operations to deal with the situation – something it’s feared will be repeated.
