Total Of 15 Candidates On Ballot For Clare In General Election

A total of 15 candidates have declared for the General Election in Clare.

Sitting TDs Pat Breen and Joe Carey of Fine Gael, their party colleague Senator Martin Conway and Fianna Fáil’s Timmy Dooley are all on the ballot.

In addition, Dooley’s fellow Fianna Fáilers, Doonbeg businesswoman Rita McInerney and Meelick Councillor Cathal Crowe, have officially declared.

Inagh Green Party Councillor Róisín Garvey is also on the ticket; as are Lisdoonvarna woman Theresa O’Donoghue, for People Before Profit, and Sinn Féin’s candidate Violet-Anne Wynne of Kilrush.

In terms of independents, there’s Quilty’s Joseph Woulfe, Trudy Leyden of Ennis, Scarriff’s Michael McNamara and David Barrett from Kilrush.

Michael Leahy, meanwhile, is running for the Irish Freedom Party, while Conor O’Brien of Lahinch is a Renua candidate.
