Taoiseach Commits To Update On School Capacity Issues In Ennis

The Taoiseach has committed to issuing an update on actions being taken to address the severe shortage of school places in secondary schools in Ennis.

It emerged last week that up to 40 children due to finish primary school in the coming weeks still don’t have a place for first year in September.

A number of parents have been expressing their concern about capacity issues at secondary schools in Ennis and at the recent opening of Scoil Chríost Rí in Cloughleigh, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar admitted there aren’t enough spaces here.

It’s now been raised in the Dáil by Clare’s Independent TD Dr Michael Harty and while the Taoiseach had no definite answers, he has assured that an update will be provided:
