Hundreds Of Clare Pupils Impacted By TUI Teachers’ Strike

Hundreds of secondary school pupils in Clare are being impacted by the Teachers Union of Ireland strike today.

Around 19,000 teachers are demonstrating in an ongoing row over pay equality, as those who entered the profession after 2011 earn around 14% less than their peers who carry out the same work.

400 schools, further education colleges and other third level institutions nationwide have shut down for the day, including several in Clare.
