Rumoured Sale Of Jaguar Land Rover “Will Not Impact” Shannon Jobs

Clare County Council says it’s confident that the rumoured sale of Jaguar Land Rover will have no impact on jobs in Shannon.

The luxury car manufacturer announced its software engineering centre in Shannon last year, with the creation of 150 jobs.

But now, following international media reports about the future of JLR, former Land Rover chief engineer Charles Tennant has come out and said the sale of JLR to Peugeot’s parent company is “inevitable”.

As recently as February, Jaguar Land Rover confirmed to Clare FM that it intended to expand the number of staff it employs in Shannon as it acquired more space in the Shannon Free Zone.
