The ESB has confirmed that Moneypoint staff have accepted a proposal that aims to ensure an ongoing operation at the west Clare plant.
A ballot concluded last Friday, following months of engagement between ESB, staff and the union representatives.
Moneypoint is due to cease coal burning in 2025 and the ESB says this proposal aligns the plant’s resources with it’s future running regime and reduced income.

The company says this is a positive step and that it’s now working with staff and their representatives to implement the agreement in a collaborative way to face the challenges ahead.
