Harty Calls For Relaxation Of Community Employment Scheme Rules

Clare’s Independent TD insists the criteria for the Community Employment Scheme needs to be relaxed so that vulnerable people can continue to avail of it.

The programme is designed to help those in long-term unemployment, or otherwise disadvantaged, to get back to work with part-time and temporary placements based within local communities.

The Communications Minister says an interdepartmental evaluation currently being carried out will look to find the correct balance within the programme.
