Clare TD Highlights Drop In Unemployment Rates

A Clare government TD is welcoming new figures which show the monthly unemployment rate has reached the lowest rate since 2005.

The rate for May of this year stands at 4.4%, down from 4.6% a month previously and a drop from the rate of 5.9% last year.

In all, 2.3 million Irish people were working in the first quarter of this year, with 221,000 new jobs created since 2016.
