East Clare Man Frustrated Over Lack Of Broadband

Further frustration has been expressed with Eir, this time by one East Clare man who was had to wait over a year for broadband to be installed in his home.

Brendan Harrington moved his family into their new home in an estate in Feakle 14 months ago, and despite much of the necessary infrastructure being in place, cannot get connected.

One of his sons has even been forced to stay with a friend to complete his college work because his mobile broadband connection cannot support all of his children’s schoolwork.

Speaking on Clare FM’s Morning Focus, Brendan says he’s frustrated at the lack of a basic service.

In a statement to Clare FM, Eir said that work on connecting the infrastructure of the estate to the core network is still ongoing but is estimated to be completed by the end of next month.
