Over half a million euro in funding has been announced for works on Clare’s smallest roads.

The money has been allocated to Clare County Council under the Local Improvement Scheme, bringing the total LIS spend here this year to over 1 million euro.

The scheme has proved popular here in recent years, as it allows communities to part-fund improvements and repairs to the likes of small roads, lanes and boreens.
