German logistics firm DB Schenker is to expand its current facility in Shannon with the construction of a new 40,000 square foot facility, which will act as an industrial warehouse for healthcare products.

The company expects the 10 million euro development to be completed in as little as two years.

It’ll give the firm the potential to double it’s current workforce of 50 to 100.

CEO of DB Schenker Shannon Ray Hennessy says the process is in the early stages, but she’s happy that things will move swiftly now that they’ve got the ball rolling on the project.

The firm made the announcement at the Shannon Chamber President’s Lunch in Dromoland.

Chief Executive of Shannon Chamber, Helen Downes says it’s a vote of confidence in Shannon and the region.
