Drop In Number Of New Cars Sold In Clare In January

There’s been a drop of over 60 in the number of 181 cars sold in Clare this January, compared with the same month last year.

Latest figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show that 878 new cars have been sold in Clare this month – down from 940 in January of 2017.

Nationally, there was a dip of around 2,000 new car sales – but used car imports in January jumped by 20% compared with the same period last year.

Economist Jim Power expects the downward trend to continue in the face of Brexit.
