Dooley – Ireland Will ‘Pay Billions’ In Fines Over Climate Change Targets

Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD is expressing concern that Ireland will be forced to shell out fines to the EU of a billion euro a year for not hitting our climate action targets.

A new report from the Climate Change Advisory Council has outlined how Ireland will fail to meet both its 2020 and 2030 targets and will fail to decarbonise the economy by 2050.

Among the aims set out by the government was to bring homes up to standard in terms of energy efficiency, as well as the widespread rollout of electric vehicles.
