The Cathaoirleach of the West Clare Municipal District is expressing disappointment that the council’s €117 million budget has been passed for the year ahead.
The draft fund has been approved after 18 councillors voted in favour of it, versus four against – with two abstentions and four absentees.
Though it’s €6 million more than last year’s budget, councillors in the west of the county were angry at a reduction of €75,000 in their General Municipal Allocation.
