Disappointment Over Tree Felling On East Road

Disappointment has been expressed over the felling of trees on a road in East Clare.

The local authority is carrying out drainage works on the Feakle to Killanena Road and the R461, and as part of this, says it was necessary to cut back overhanging limbs and trees on health and safety grounds.

Clare County Council says landowners were notified in advance and that there was some evidence that trees in the vicinity were previously cut back by other parties.
