‘Disappointment’ Over Slow Pace Of Rural Rejuvenation Scheme

The head of Muintir na Tíre has expressed “disappointment” at a lack of progress on a government scheme which aimed to bring young families into rural towns and villages.

It was late 2016 when the government announced a grant to help first-time buyers refurbish derelict buildings as homes.

However, over a year later, the scheme has yet to be set up and there has been scant progress on establishing it as a pilot project.
