Opposition to a controversial East Clare road has expressed disappointment after a proposal to revoke support for the route failed to garner support.
The Limerick Northern Distributor Road will pass through a number of areas affected by flooding in recent months, but depite this, a motion to withdraw support was rejected as the road is now included in the Clare County Development Plan.

The Chairperson of the Northern Distributor Concerned Residents Group Ed English says campaigners against the road will continue to lobby politicians and prospective TDs in the run up to the general election.
