Disagreement Over Mandatory Dáil Prayer

The Government says the new format for the start of Dáil sessions tries to “reflect the beliefs, or none” of all TDs.

The claim was made during a debate on proposed rules that oblige all TD’s to stand up for the opening prayer, and 30 seconds of silent reflection.

Some TD’s say they’ll break Dáil rules by refusing to stand.
