Diocese Of Killaloe Seeks Lay People To Help As Priest Shortage Hits

It’s hoped opening the church’s doors to lay people will help address the ongoing shortage of priests in the Diocese of Killaloe.

New pastoral ministries have been created here, with courses launched to train people of faith who are interested in becoming involved in the church.

A severe decline in the number of people entering the seminary has led to the clustering of parishes and a reduction in the number of religious services held in recent years.
