Clare County Council works, which will result in the closure of a busy route into Clarecastle, look set to get a frosty reception when they begin this morning.
A rally has been organised by local residents concerned about the impact of the works at Latoon Creek Bridge, which is set to see part of the former N18 route closed for the next six months.
Residents want the works to be concluded more quickly by working on a 24/7 basis, and are concerned about the impact on Christmas trade
