Councillors have deferred making a decision on whether to permit the development by Clare County Council of eight new social housing units off the Tulla Road in Ennis.
It’s planned that the units will be developed on a site close to the Elm Wood estate but residents there, who have stressed that they are not against social housing, have expressed concern that the houses will impinge upon their privacy as they’re being developed on a more elevated site.
A number of those present said after the meeting that they welcome the decision to defer a vote, and that they look forward to engaging with the Council.
