Dangerous Conditions On Clare Roads Following Wintry Showers Overnight

Gardaí are warning of treacherous driving conditions on county roads this morning.

Early snow and hail showers this morning have led to very slippery conditions and black ice in some areas.

Gardaí say there have been a number of minor road crashes across the county this morning, following hail and snow showers early this morning.

The Lahinch road, the Cree to Kilmihil road and the Ennis to Kilrush road at Lisseycasey, and roads around Ballyea are said to be particularly bad.

While there’s also reports of dangerous conditions on the overtaking lane of the M18 and M17 motorways, on back roads, in sheltered areas, at entrances of estates and footpaths.

Motorists are being urged to slow down, allow extra time for your journey and drive with extreme care when out and about on the roads this morning.
