Plans Progressing For WWII Memorial In Clare

Work is progressing on a WWII memorial to be erected at the Clare Peace Park in Ennis to remember those from this county who died in the battles.

A new glass panel is to be added to the existing WWI memorial on Causeway Link in the county town, where the annual remembrance ceremony will take place this Sunday.

Some 62 people from Clare died in the Second World War, including six women, and this will be the first time their contribution has been permanently marked.
