The National Transport Authority is to consider a mediation process to resolve an ongoing dispute with Clare Bus.

Clare’s five oireachtas members met with the NTA via teleconference yesterday, during which it was confirmed that a new procurement process will begin next week on nine routes, and Clare Bus can submit a bid for tender.

The NTA has also confirmed that it will make public the results of an audit of Clare Accessible Transport, which was carried out in 2019, and resulted in a dispute over money owed.

A decision on whether a mediator will be appointed will be made in the coming week and Clare’s Sinn Féin TD, Violet-Anne Wynne, is hopeful it will happen.
