Concern is being expressed that long-term measures to address serious flooding issues in Clonlara are still a year away in the best case scenario.
Homeowners in the Springfield area are once again facing the nightmare situation they were left with in 2016, with some families evacuated from their homes while others have remained in their houses, surrounded by flood waters.
It’s hoped that the coming weeks will see an agreement struck between the OPW and Clare County Council, which will kick-start the process to finalise flood defence systems for the area once and for all.
