Hauliers And Shannon Chamber To Appear Before Transport Committee

The Clare-based President of the Irish Road Hauliage Association says the current system of border checks is worse than it was in the 1970s.

The Irish Road Hauliage Association will appear before the Oireachtas Transport Committee later, as well as representatives from Shannon Chamber and the Revenue Commissioners.

The IRHA will tell TDs and Senators that IT systems for customs checks due to Brexit aren’t fit for purpose, and there’s too much ‘cumbersome’ paperwork involved.
