Fresh Tests Due On Inagh-Kilmaley Group Water Scheme As Do Not Drink Notice Continues

Fresh tests on the Inagh-Kilmaley Group Water Scheme are set to be carried out in the coming 24 to 48 hours, to see if issues affecting the supply have been rectified.

It’s three weeks today since the scheme, which serves 2,000 homes and is the largest such scheme in the country, had a “do not drink” notice issued.

Operational problems arose at the water treatment works for the scheme, which resulted in above recommended levels of aluminium and turbidity, which is a measure of cloudiness in the water.

New filters have been installed now which will flush out the system and manager of the Kilmaley-Inagh Group Water Scheme, Noel Carmody says the results of the tests at the water’s source will determine the next steps.
