Ennistymon has been given a significant boost after being awarded half a million euro under Fáilte Ireland’s Destination Towns Scheme.
The 500,000 euro will be issued in two rounds to fund projects that boost the attractiveness and tourism appeal for the North Clare town, with the money being issued early next year.
Funding will also be provided by Clare County Council with the aim being to make tourists passing through to the likes of Lahinch and the Cliffs of Moher stop and stay in Ennistymon.
