Delays To Clonlara Flood Defences “Grossly Insulting” To Residents – Crowe

Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD has branded a government overspend that led to Clonlara flood defences being put on the long finger as “grossly insulting” to residents.

Households there are reliving their worst nightmare, with floodwaters surrounding their homes, while the water has already crossed the threshold into one of the houses.

Clare County Council is to lodge a fresh planning application next month to construct flood defences there, following a number of delays that have hit the project in recent years.
