A cyber security expert is warning Clare companies of an increase in the number of attempted scams targeting local firms.
Clarecastle-based Edel Mee of IT Security People says she has seen an increase in the number of attempts at phishing scams, particularly targeted at companies in the construction sector.
The scam sees hackers send what appear to be legitimate emails, relating to an invoice or other payment, requesting a change of bank account details for monies owed.
