Crowe Urges Strong Participation From Clare In Hearing On Controversial Mungret Plans

Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD is urging people in every corner of this county to come out in strong opposition to plans to burn alternative fuel at Irish Cement’s Mungret plant.

The EPA has confirmed that a four-day oral hearing will take place in May, to listen to concerns and objections from members of the public on the controversial plans.

There were over 4,500 objections to the plans when they were first announced, as the move would see the plant burning alternative fuels, including used tyres, plastics and animal waste tissue.

Clare County Council and Limerick City and County Council also issued a joint objection against the plans.
