Concern That Lack Of Greenery Maintenance Is Costing Shannon Town Some Business

Concern is being expressed that Shannon town is losing out on business opportunities because of a lack of maintenance of the town’s green infrastructure.

Local Independent Councillor Gerry Flynn is hitting out at the local authority for the quality of maintenance being carried out on the likes of the recently constructed River Walk there.

Clare County Council says this walkway was never intended to be part of the grass cutting contract, as it in an area of natural beauty.

But Councillor Flynn, who is Cathaoirleach of the Shannon Municipal District, is concerned about the impression they’re giving off.
