Concern About Impact Of Home Help Cuts Downplayed

An Ennis-based care provider is playing down concerns about impact of the HSE’s decision to cut home help hours on this county.

The HSE has suspended home help hours to new applicants despite more than 6,000 people waiting to access home care support, leading to concern about the knock-on impact on hospitals and nursing homes.

A Dáil debate on the matter is to take place this afternoon, following a failed attempt by Denis Naughten to suspend Dáil proceedings to discuss the issue.
