Clare’s Green Party Councillor Criticises “Knee-Jerk” Reaction To Flooding Amid Climate Emergency

Clare’s Green Party Councillor is hitting out at the “knee-jerk reaction” to flooding issues, saying flooding issues have been coming down the tracks for years.

Many areas of Clare are battling intense levels of flooding since the weekend, with the Springfield area of Clonlara particularly badly hit, where a number of homes remain under threat of flooding.

Less serious issues have also been reported in the likes of Inagh and Broadford, while St Flannan’s College in Ennis was forced to close due to extensive flooding on its grounds.
