Clare has seen biggest drop in funding for dental care for medical card holders in the country.

The Irish Dental Association says dental treatment for medical card holders across the country is in ‘complete chaos’.

It says state spending on dental care for these patients has fallen by 30 per cent across the country, as dentists are pulling out of the State’s Treatment Services Scheme, due to the cost of taking part in the initiative.

Clare has seen a 48% drop in funding, followed by Kerry at 45%.
