There’s a strong Clare influence among the winners of the 2020 TG4/Gradam Ceoil awards for traditional music.

Josephine Marsh, who lives in Coore, won the Composer Award while Sharon Howley from Kilfenora was named as the Young Musician of the Year.

Meanwhile, Killaloe-native Seamus Connolly won the lifetime achievement award in recognition of his work, including his eponymous Collection of Irish Music.

The winners were announced at an event in Westport this week, and the winners will receive their awards at a gala concert in Belfast next February.
