Clare Lake One Of The Most Polluted In Ireland

Lough Lickeen, near Ennistymon, had some of the highest levels of pollution of any lake in the country, while the report also notes Lough Donnell, near Doonbeg, as having bad water quality and Shannon Airport Lagoon as having poor quality.

Issues have also been flagged with the Kilmihil Stream, and EPA Biologist, Shane O’Boyle has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that lessons learned from action taken in other parts of the country should be applied in areas like Clare.
