Clare’s Chief Fire Officer is confident that East Clare has the capability to host an event to the scale of the Irish Open.
Adrian Kelly, who was Clare County Council’s coordinator for the Open, says the event in Lahinch a fortnight ago exceeded expectations and showed the best of Clare.
With 87,000 visitors across the four days and a global television audience of 500 million people, it’s hoped the legacy will be a welcome boost for Clare’s tourism sector.
